What is definition of Hallucinations in Mental Health Conditions?
Hallucinations are sensory experiences that are distorted or perceived but do not correspond to reality. They can occur in various mental health conditions, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and substance use disorders. Hallucinations can affect any of the five senses, including seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting, and smelling things that aren’t actually there. These experiences can be vivid and intense, and individuals may believe the hallucinations are real. Hallucinations are usually symptomatic of an underlying condition and should be evaluated and addressed by a qualified mental health professional.
