Schema therapy is a therapeutic approach that was developed by psychologist Jeffrey E. Young. It integrates elements from cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and experiential therapy to help individuals identify and change longstanding patterns or “schemas” that cause emotional and behavioral difficulties.
