What is definition of Phobias in Mental Health Conditions?

Phobias are a type of anxiety disorder characterized by an excessive and irrational fear of specific objects, situations, or activities. People with phobias often go to great lengths to avoid their feared stimulus, which can significantly impact their daily lives and relationships. Common phobias include fear of heights (acrophobia), fear of flying (aviophobia), fear of spiders (arachnophobia), and fear of public speaking (glossophobia). Phobias usually develop in response to a traumatic or distressing experience, but they can also be learned through observation or inherited. Fortunately, phobias can be treated through various therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure therapy.
